Designing Simulacra, I aimed for a standalone experience—not tied to Portal 2’s Aperture Labs. The goal was to let players interpret the space on their own terms. An abstract theme with color-blocked tiles and strange puzzle vignettes sets a dreamlike tone that drifts away from canonical Portal motifs—an independent simulacrum.
