project summary
ZUMA VR reimagines the classic ball-shooting arcade formula inside a fully realized VR environment. You fire magical platonic solids to break a moving chain before it reaches the skull — with 360° spatial awareness, room-scale freedom, and hands-on VR controller aiming replacing every click of the original.
All 3D assets — platonic solids, palm columns, pedestals, and the gate — were modeled in Maya and rendered in Octane. The world draws from Ancient Egyptian architecture, mythology, and sacred geometry, reinterpreted through a magical lens where each element has a form, a shape, and a purpose.
inspiration
This prototype pays homage to PopCap's Zuma Deluxe. The original's core loop — shoot colored balls to clear a chain before it reaches the skull — translates naturally to VR, where spatial depth and controller precision change the feel entirely.

world & theme
ancient egypt · sci-fiThe world blends Ancient Egyptian motifs with clean sci-fi forms. Primary interactables are "magical solids" derived from platonic shapes — each mapped to a classical element. Low-poly and emissive, they read clearly in VR while remaining performant.
